Artemis mission – what is worth knowing about it?

It takes approx. 1 minutes to read this article

The Artemis I mission is the first stage of NASA’s plan to send humans to the Moon again. Initial activities are to include the flight of the Orion spacecraft around the Moon.

Plans and objectives of the mission

Orion is an unmanned spacecraft that is to set off toward the Moon and then enter its orbit to conduct various studies from there. These are to be the basis for the preparation of manned missions that would put man on the Moon again. The mission was originally scheduled to begin on August 29, 2022 and last 42 days. The Orion spacecraft was to be in orbit of the Moon for nearly three weeks.

On Monday, August 29, the flight failed for technical reasons and was rescheduled for September 3. Unfortunately, it failed this time as well. The launch of the engines was halted because a serious problem was noted – a fuel leak, which had already resulted in the death of a group of astronauts. The likely cause of the malfunction was a faulty rocket seal. The next launch window for the Artemis mission is scheduled for two weeks between October 17 and 31. Will the launch be successful this time? We’ll see.
